SeekersGuidance Support Staff [#221] September 16, 2012 Course FAQ

Students can currently register for a maximum of three courses per semester (does not include "Live courses").  To register for courses:


  • Using our Course Catalog, add a course by clicking on the "Register" button on its course's info page.  This will add that course in the shopping cart. If you do not wish to add more courses, please click on the "Proceed to Checkout" button below after deciding on a donation amount (optional). 
  • If you wish to add more courses, click on the "Register for Additional Courses" button below and repeat for subsequent courses.
  • Once all three courses are in the shopping cart, go ahead and click on "Proceed to Checkout"  after deciding on a donation amount (optional).
  • Follow the instructions.

SeekersGuidance Support Staff [#221] September 12, 2012 Course FAQ

At SeekersGuidance, most of the course materials are pre-recorded in download-able audio format with 12 lessons per term. Each lesson is  about 1-2 hours long. Once the semester begins, students will get access to all lesson material for most courses. They may download them and study at their own pace whenever and wherever they want.

Most courses have recommended quizzes after each lesson. These quizzes test the students’ understanding of the lesson just completed. It is highly recommended that students attempt these quizzes for their benefit but it is not a requirement.

Live Sessions and Attendance
Generally, there are only 3 live sessions per term except for the Qur'anic Recitation & Qur'an Memorization courses that will have a live session every week. Attendance of these live sessions for general courses is not necessary but is highly recommended since students can get their questions answered live from their instructors and benefit from detailed explanations not available in the pre-recorded audio sessions.  Attendance in Qur'anic Recitation & Qur'an Memorization courses' live sessions however, is a requirement to pass the course.

Timings and dates for live sessions will be available on the top of the main course page(after logging in) once they are confirmed. The live sessions for general courses are recorded and can be viewed later by people who may have missed them.

SeekersGuidance courses also consist of SeekersForum where students can ask relevant questions to their instructors.

Support Staff [#201] May 9, 2012 Course Policies

Students are allowed to withdraw from courses before the semester commences(Update: Withdrawals still possible). If you intend to transfer to another course, please make sure that course has spots available before withdrawing.

Students can withdraw by clicking here. Once on the form, please enter the email address associated with your SeekersGuidance account and its password followed by the Course ID of the course you want to withdraw from. Once the withdrawal is complete, students may register for any other course of their choice until the registration deadline.

It is recommended that students withdraw from a course before the semester begins if they are reasonably sure they cannot attend it. This will help us free up space for other students. Students may not transfer to another course once the semester has started but can still withdraw from courses.

Immediately after you complete your registration, you will receive an email confirming your registration. Please keep this email safely in case you need to contact our Help Desk with further questions about your registration.

If this is your first time taking a course with SeekersGuidance, you will also receive a separate email with your username and password to login to the course page and access your course materials. If you are a returning student, you will NOT receive this email with your login credentials. If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it by clicking here.  Please ONLY enter either your username or email address used to register, not both.

After logging in, the new courses you signed up for will appear in your existing account under the heading 'Upcoming Courses'. You will not be able to access those courses until the start of the new term. Please see our Academic Calendar for details.
